Advanced Shooting and Video Editing
- Already in the world of videography? Learn advanced shooting and editing by making a finished video in five days. This hands-on course will teach you advance shooting and editing techniques used in movies, documentaries, commercials P.S.A.s and music videos. The course covers the advanced use of cameras, lighting, location, sound recording and picture editing in a digital format. Participants will also get the opportunity to use the Adobe Premier Pro (VERSION CS4) digital editing system. At the end of the course participants will demonstrate effective use of the techniques in planning and producing advanced video projects.

Advertising Management 1
- The course presents practical information and ready-to-use tools for anyone involved or interested in the production and/or supervision of the advertising function. The course presents advertising management as an art, science and business discipline aimed at directing the strategic link between promotional needs and agency/marketing department execution of solutions. Many registrants will already have experience with the 'how' of advertising techniques and practice; this course will supply them with more of the 'how' as well as the 'why'.

Applied Brand Management
- A strong brand is a company’s most valuable asset and is the basis for building lasting stakeholder value and sustainable business growth. Yet, many organizations have not capitalized on the power of their brands and very little has been paid to the subject of brands and branding in advanced education in the Caribbean. This course presents an introduction to brands and their importance to business strategy and an organization long term profitability. It also provides an explanation of the main theories and concepts and explores techniques used in building and sustaining a strong brand.

Art of Photography
- Howard Moo Young believes that to make great photos you must first learn to see. In this course Moo Young teaches budding photographers, and seasoned ones, the techniques manipulating lighting, texture, composition and other elements to create the perfect photograph. Students must have their own camera. A digital camera is not required.

Business Writing and Presentation
- The goal of the course is to teach students how to strengthen their professional skills by demonstrating keen attention to details and awareness of how to effectively transition to higher and stronger levels of their craft. By making better and clearer written and oral presentation, it is envisioned that students will be able to more effectively coordinate and conduct targeted presentation and organize more successful business meetings.

Communication Studies BOOTCAMP
- This short teen summer course in communication studies is to aid teens/young adults to bridge the gap between English and Effective Communication. Moving from CXC English to Writing for different disciplines is a drastic change. At the University level, students are expected to conduct research, and evaluation in a short time, while producing accurate information. This course is designed to teach students how to handle vast amount of information, and present it in both writing and oral forms.

You will also learn how to improve on your digital photographic technique by capitalizing on your camera's functionality and your own skill and photographic style.This course will introduce you to the techniques of using digital tools and how the manipulation of images can influence perception.

- Today’s technology allows us to tell stories in engaging, compelling and powerful ways. Digital Storytelling combines the art of telling stories with some mixture of digital graphics, text, recorded audio narration, video and music to present information on a specific topic. This hands-on course is ideal for educators in all fields who are looking for new ways to engage students.

Event Planning
- This course provides a practical introduction to events planning, and outlines the steps that are necessary for executing successful events. It is suitable for event planners (both practicing and aspiring), public relations practitioners and other persons who are or may be involved in this activity. The course will stress the importance of adopting a systematic approach to event planning and management by identifying the various tasks and activities that must be accomplished to achieve success. Topics include management; categories and types of special events; goal and objective setting; the phases of events planning including concept, situation analysis (feasibility), analysis and planning, strategy, implementation including publicity and promotion, budgeting, evaluation; corporate event planning; entertainment; site selection and inspection; food and beverage management, sponsorship, negotiations and contracts. Participants will be required to plan an event as well as complete project management forms and time sheets. They will also be provided with a comprehensive handout at the end of the course.

Feature Writing for Magazines & Newspapers
- Feature writers are (factual) storytellers. This hands-on course will help to stimulate participants to look beyond the obvious, identify, develop and write about the numerous stories unfolding around them daily and earn money. The workshop includes identifying topics; exploring various forms of feature writing; gathering information; writing clear, catchy and concise copy; and pitching stories to editors. These will be done through lecture, discussions, assignment, critique and analysis. This workshop is for inexperienced writers; people who want to turn their words into cash; people who want to write for newspapers and/or magazines.

Graphic Design (Basic)
- Do you want to go public with your ideas and products? Or learn some basic advertising publicity techniques? This course will introduce you to the basics of graphic design using Adobe Photoshop and Corel Draw. The principal focus is to show students how to design logos, brochures, posters or billboard advertising. **Good knowledge of Adobe Photoshop and Corel Draw or Adobe illustrator. You must be comfortable using a computer You will also need to take a USB stick along with you to this course.

iDesign: A design workshop for teens
- This short teen summer course is an introduction to the professional field of graphic design. iDesign: A graphic design workshop for teen will provide insight into digital imagery and illustration. Teens will be able to create pictures, flyers, covers and other designs, using the professional programs Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign.

Interactive Motion Graphics (using Flash)
- Since the late 1800s, media developers have sought new and improved methods to capture their audience’s imagination through the use of moving images. With the explosion of the personal computer in the late 20th century, media developers were given a powerful tool to engage their audience in new and now interactive ways. This course is aimed at providing participants with the training necessary to manipulate this mode of communication. Interactive Motion Graphics (Using Adobe Flash) introduces participants to Interactive Motion Graphics from both an artistic and practical perspective, with particular emphasis on understanding its role within the wider media industry. The course is designed as a ‘hands-on’ experience with exercises geared towards creating interactive motion graphics for any number of purposes and/or mediums. The experience gained from these exercises will provide the foundational skills necessary to start producing industry level interactive motion graphics.

Introduction to Public Relations
- Gain an understanding of the roles and responsibilities of public relations practitioners. Topics covered include: PR history, terminology and techniques; PR programmes and their components; PR and communication as a profession; the impact of technology; PR in the advertising and marketing mix; event planning; writing principles; writing for newspapers, magazines and the internet; and identifying feature opportunities. This course uses case studies throughout and is offered in three modules. As a final project, students will prepare a PR plan that combines the areas discussed in each module.

Introduction to TV Producing
- Students will select a particular type of programme and “produce” an episode - They will create a blueprint of the entire production process, as it offers in detail who, what, when, where, and how of a production. (research, proposal, format, production plans, identifying talent, location scouting, scriptwriting for on air talent and voice overs). In this course, you will learn to obey the golden rule: “Try to be a good crew person for your fellow classmates when they direct, just as you will most certainly want them to be good crew for you when you direct.”
